DESCRIPTION:What this course gives you\, your business and your leaders… \nSkills that help them in their roles reduce downtime\, increase efficiency\, retain site skills and necessary personnel\, and reduce/save costs and waste across your sites and processes. \nThis programme\, Leadership from the Ground Up\, is designed for construction SME leaders\, site managers\, and emerging leaders to strengthen their ability to deliver safe\, efficient\, and sustainable projects. It combines practical leadership skills with real-world construction challenges\, supporting alignment with Ireland’s Climate Action Plan and Housing for All. The focus is on building strong site culture alongside operational performance\, recognising that successful projects rely on both technical expertise and effective leadership. \nDelivered across four focused modules to minimise time away from site\, the programme is highly practical and applied. Participants will work on live projects to carry out safety and communication audits\, identify efficiency improvements\, and strengthen team engagement and retention. The outcome is a clear\, actionable plan that supports better project delivery\, stronger teams\, and long-term leadership development within the organisation. Read more below. \nThe programme integrates \n\nLeadership capability\nOperational Efficiency\, and\nWorkforce Sustainability\,\n\nAnd recognises that sustainable construction requires both technical practices and strong organisational culture. \nParticipants will apply learning directly to live projects within their organisation\, ensuring practical impact and measurable improvements in safety\, efficiency\, workforce engagement\, and leadership development. \nThis programme is delivered in four focused modules\, designed to minimise time away from any physical working site while ensuring\, enabling and maximising learning and immediate impact. \nThe aim is to empower and encourage leaders to be strategic\, resilient and adaptive in driving sustainable transformation. \nParticipants will conduct a Safety & Voice Audit on a live project within their organisation\, identifying: \n\nCurrent safety communication practices\nBarriers preventing workers from speaking up\nOpportunities to strengthen leadership behaviours that reinforce safety culture\n\nParticipants will conduct an Efficiency Leak Assessment on a current project to identify opportunities to improve: \n\nMaterial efficiency\nEnergy use\nTime management and workflow\nKnowledge transfer across teams\n\nParticipants will develop a practical action plan to eliminate or reduce these inefficiencies. \nParticipants will conduct Stay Interviews with members of their team to understand: \n\nWhat motivates employees to stay?\nWhat challenges do they face?\nWhat improvements could increase engagement and retention?\n\nParticipants will use insights from these interviews to design a team engagement improvement plan. \nParticipants will develop a Leadership Development Plan for themselves and their organisation or that in which they work\, including: \n\nIdentification of potential future leaders\nCareer pathway mapping\nOpportunities for learning and development\n\nCurrently accepting interest in this programme for September/October commencement  \nEach session is max of 3 hours  \nSessions will be blended\, in person and remotely delivered.
